I’m a budget traveler. I love exploring different places without spending everything. (I don’t poop money hahaha) One of my go-to airlines, when I book flights, is Cebu Pacific.

That said, I decided to write my appreciation to them here in my personal blog.

Dear Cebu Pacific,

Hello! I’d like to congratulate you for making travel accessible to every Juan for almost 27 years.

When I saw that “CEB @ 27” on the front page of Smile, I thought, “I’m 27 too!” (OMG! Sudden age reveal!) I guess that’s what caught my attention to grab the magazine to read during my flight going back home.

I hope I won’t bore you because I’d like to tell you the story of my recent flight with you. It was in June 2022 when I decided I wanted to come back home hopefully around the last week of March 2023 to April 2023, but as a surprise to my family. I had to plan ahead to make sure the surprise will succeed.

I’m currently an OFW, and coming back home would always be very memorable. As I’m always been an “abangers” of your promo fares, I believed I am always updated if there’s a promo sale. In short, I was able to take advantage of it for this recent flight I had with you.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for being true to your mission to make travel accessible to every Juan. Ever since I started working away from home (back in Manila too), I make it a tradition to be home at least once a year.

I always wanted to come home in a surprise manner, and I tried my best to keep it as secret as much as possible.

Because of your promo fares, I’m able to take the quickest route to be back home without compromising or revealing the surprise that I’m on my way home.

Thank you so much for offering value-for-money service that someone like me could experience flying, not just on my way home, but to every memorable place I’ve been to.

When I finally settled on my seat on my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Manila in March 2023, that’s when I saw your Smile magazine in the seat pocket. I grabbed it and then saw that we were about the same age.

I realized that I grew older, but there are still a long way to go for me to explore. I think it will be the same for you. There are still many adventures to go and thanks to your dedication, I trust that you will remain committed to your battle cry “Let’s fly every Juan!“.

I haven’t been able to finish reading the magazine when we landed in Manila. Thus, before getting off the plane, I asked if I could have one copy of the Smile magazine from one of your flight crew. He smilingly gave me one.

So I brought it with me during my vacation in my hometown – Masbate, Philippines. (Thanks to you, I’m sorry I forgot to take note of your name)

The magazine is just what I wanted, it talks about traveling.

I surely enjoyed reading the #smilemag while I was having fun in the kubo and while sitting by the beach.

As a person with travel itchy feet, I wanted to see those beautiful places published in Smile magazine. One day perhaps…

My quick vacation to the Philippines has been wonderfully fulfilled. I flew back to where I earn my living. Thank you, Cebu Pacific.

I had a comfortable and safe flight all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, from Manila to Masbate, and vice versa. In every landing, I always hear you say, probably not exactly verbatim, “Thanks for choosing Cebu Pacific to be part of your special moments“.

I think that’s really sweet. Indeed, #SmileWithCEB

In the p80 of the Smile magazine, you asked, “What makes you smile when you fly with Cebu Pacific?“

A lot.

I smile whenever I get an affordable flight to where I’m going.
I smile when I have successfully checked in online because it saves me time.
I smile when it’s boarding time because the waiting is over (hahaha)
I smile when I am being welcomed and greeted by the crew when I enter the aircraft.
I smile when my carry-on has space in my overhead compartment because it’s closer to me when I get off.
I smile when I find and get settled in my seat because that means, it’s real, I’m flying again.
I smile when the plane is flying.
I smile when the plane safely landed and taxied to the arrival area.
I smile when I hear the music being played before getting off the plane.
It may not be the whole voyage, but most of the time, I’m smiling because I enjoy the trip wherever I go.
